Magic The Gathering Cube Draft
I'm hosting a cube draft event beginning November 30 and on the books for every other Sunday until we get tired of doing it. I'm a gamer at heart, and a standing appointment seems like the best way to grow this idea.
Let's start basic:
And now, what is cube?
At the St Petersburg Brewing cube events, we will begin by having 3 main cubes available to draft, maximum/ideally 8 people draft per cube. Players receive 3 packs of 15 cards, draft/select 1 card at a time and end up with 45 cards, and then make a 40 card deck, 17 lands and 23 nonlands. Then you play 1v1, best of 3 and we go from there.
Cubes can be any collection of cards, can be based on power or non power or just taste of the creator. Here is some info about the 3 main cubes available in St Pete:
The first cube is a fancy card powered cube. Lots of combos and sweaty things of that nature:

Next, a peasant cube + optimized lands/fixing:

Lastly, we will have a low power cube with no combos

To make sure cards don't get lost after draft, cube owners will count the 45 cards returned by the drafters/players. We don't want cards accidentally dropped under tables or anything like that.
Ok, let's start there. Just wanted to put this all in one place. Shoot me a line if any questions:
